These Headphones Will Literally Get You High On Music

A lot of people claim that music gets them high, and they don’t require any sort of substances to help them reach that level. However, San Diego based startup Nervana have just launched a new pair of headphones, which will literally get you high on music without the need of any substances. The headphones emit electrical pulses, triggering a release of dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin, responsible for stimulating pleasure.

All you need to do is plug the headphones into a Nervana Generator or any other media player, where a low-power electric stimulation is emitted in sync with music, taking your listening experience to another level. The headphones also have an ambient mode, which you can use according to your surroundings, and will produce the same effect, only with the sounds detected nearby, making them perfect for a music festival.

According to the experience of one listener at CES 2016:

I felt the electricity go into my arm, and everything was tingling there, but the best moment for me was afterwards when I finished and stood up. I felt like I reached a personal high point. I couldn’t stop smiling or laughing. I was like, ‘Oh wow’. For about five minutes, my happiness level was a 10 out of 10. Then it got foggier, but I was still unusually happy for about an hour.

Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it? The headphones will be available for order on Nervana’s website later this month, and will cost $299 ( INR 20,345.46 to be exact). Yikes!
