Will they or won’t they? This seems to be the question on every Swedish House Mafia fan. Will the super trio reunite, or will they continue working on their individual projects? With recent statements from both Axwell and Steve Angello refusing to rule out a Swedish House Mafia reunion, this latest comment from Axwell during an interview might yet give you hope again.
In an interview with BBC’s flagship news programme Newsbeat, Axwell says he’d never rule out a Swedish House Mafia reunion.
Obviously it’s a great thing that we have done and we loved every minute of it. But right now we’re enjoying this new ride and I think Steve is probably the same. I think we’re all in our happy places right now. Having said that it would be stupid of me to say never [to a reunion].
Citing Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem‘s reunion at Coachella, he further adds:
Maybe one day something will happen inside of us that says ‘boom’. But it’s more [likely to be] coming from us than at a festival.
Well, there you have it. There could be an SHM reunion after all, folks. Let’s just hope it’s sooner than later.
