2015 was an amazing year for Anjunadeep, an independent label owned by Above & Beyond and James Grant. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, they released a compilation album which reached no.1 on iTunes and the year was full of sold out live events and festival stages. Now, Anjunadeep kicks off 2016 with a various artists EP titled ‘Explorations‘ featuring four tracks from four artists making their debuts on the label. The peak time representation on the EP is carried out by London-based producer and DJ, Heliotype with his fresh sound of “Catching Fire” giving the old vibes from the releases by Dusky and Leftwing & Kody, as Anjunadeep puts it. ‘Saying Nothing‘ on D:Vision Records was Heliotype‘s break-out release, which garnered major support across the scene. Known for his combination of elements from House, Drum n Bass and Garage, his feel-good and melodic music is now making its way to you via “Catching Fire“.
After kicking off with a pulsating bassline and moving percussion, the dreamy breakdown in the middle is dedicated to giving you a heart warming experience with beautiful vocal samples and pensive placement of strings. Soon, the percussion returns to the mix and strikes full on with the groovy bassline.
