English musician David Bowie has passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer. One of the finest musicians to come out of England, Bowie made his first breakthrough with his song ‘Space Oddity‘ in 1969 and went on to experiment with electronica in his career, including collaborations with Brian Eno. His latest album, ‘Blackstar‘ was released on 8th January 2016.
He was listed by Rolling Stone at no. 39 in their list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” and no. 23 on on their list of the best singers of all time, and leaves an everlasting legacy. The news was confirmed by his Facebook page with the following statement:
