Deadmau5 is good at two things: having Twitter fights with a lot of EDM artists, and producing good music. After a recent heated exchange on Twitter with Skrillex caught news headlines, he chose to do the latter.
After months of uploading various sounds on SoundCloud under the username f***mylife, he put out a track with a groove reminiscent of some of his tracks that made him popular in the first place.
Imaginary Friends is easily on par with instant classics like Strobe and FML. The progressive vibe typical of Deadmau5 is felt throughout the track, right from the grainy bassline, to the snares, to the mellow breakdowns. The track itself is over seven minutes of progressive goodness that will still sound fresh for years to come.
