It has been 3 months since the terrific trio of Major Lazer released their song “Powerful” which they made in collaboration with Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley. With Ellie’s melodic vocals, Tarrus’ smooth voice and the excellent and almost ballad-esque production by Major Lazer, this song was was destined to be one of the major hits of the year and spawn a whole legion of amazing remixes.
The latest person to remix this classic is none other than the extremely talented individual, straight out of France, Michael Calfan. Bringing his own unique French touch to house music, Calfan has reworked this song from scratch. It opens with a very melodious and a very groovy beat and transitions into a very unique ‘Michael Calfan sound’ which he calls as Soul House. The song has new elements which shine by themselves but pay homage to the original tracks beautiful structure and vocals.
