Avicii defended the dance music industry and stood up to the wildly misinformed and grim misunderstandings of Noel Gallagher, the former lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of Oasis. Noel says that guys like Avicii -‘The dude in the hat‘ – simply sit behind the ‘fake decks’ and press the play button which is leading today onto a ‘bleak future’.
He talks about today’s state of the music industry and states that it is not real, commendable or something to take pride in. He also went as far as to insult acts in his own realm of music, The Arctic Monkeys, calling them ‘too old for school’. Avicii has made it very clear in his very professional statement that such wild accusations are not welcome and says that what is really “sad” is hearing an old time musician like him confessing so bluntly and openly to not having an open mind to new music.
