Marco Bailey – What Happened? EP

Belgian icon Marco Bailey has always wondered what makes Techno one of the most delirious genres on the dancefloor. What indeed makes audiences parade in synchronized swarming, raising their arms and immersing themselves into subtle grooves and melodies? Bailey, has used his inquisition as constructively as can be expected of him with the brand new ‘What Happened?’ EP on MBR Limited Recordings.

The two-track EP features two giant releases from the legendary producer, the first of which is the titular ‘What Happened?’ remixed by Arnaud Le Texier. With dark atmospherics and grungy basslines, a delectable sine groove keeps piercing the drum grooves and bass arrangements while eerie waveforms keep chugging away at the chief reverberating melodies. As dark as they come. The B-side features an original from Bailey called ‘Kari‘. Ringing through with an original percussion-heavy drumline, this one procures some good techno magic with its patient buildup and gradual emergence of elements, making it one of the highlights of a peak-time set.
