As we are still under the enchantment of the iconic A State Of Trance stage, we give you a brief transcript of a run-in we had with one of the performers at the historic Festival. Moments before they took to the A State Of Trance stage in Mumbai, we had a chance to catch up with Finnish legends and Trance pioneers Super 8 & Tab for an exclusive interview. We spoke about India, their music, ASOT, Armin and a collaboration they’d like to do with Indian artists!

TBB: Hey guys! How does it feel to be back in India? This is the first time you guys are performing at the venue here. What do you think about the venue?

Super 8 & Tab: It feels great! We haven’t actually seen the stage yet, but from the tweets and images it looks amazing. We played in Mumbai when we came to India for the Sunburn Festival in 2007, and we have toured here in India many times as well. It’s great to be back!

TBB: You’ve been part of A State of Trance for many years now. What do you think about it completing 14 mammoth years as a Trance centered show?

Super 8 & Tab: Yeah, it’s been absolutely crazy! When we first played in Germany, there were maybe 800-1000 people at the event, and we thought that that was insane back then. And now, we have live stream and the social media happening all the time…its crazy how many people are listening!

TBB: How significant has the radio show been for pushing out the Trance music scene towards mainstream consciousness in general?

Super 8 & Tab: Oh, it’s really important! Trance wouldn’t have been where it is now without Armin and ASOT. It’s been the reason how a lot of artists have got a platform to showcase their music. Without the radio show, even we wouldn’t be here. Week after week, millions are listening to the radio show live. I think even Armin didn’t realize when he had started the radio show, that it would get so big!

TBB: Both of you’ll had individual careers in Finland, before you’ll decided to team up together. What was the story behind that?

Super 8 & Tab: We were both releasing music on the same label, Anjunabeats. In the studio complex, we had been working with only an aisle between us! So it was only a matter of time before we said, ‘yeah we should try and do something together’! It worked out so well, that after ‘Helsinki Scorchin’ we decided let’s join our forces together! And it’s much more fun as well!

TBB: Can we expect any new music soon from you’ll?

Super 8 & Tab: We have just released the extended album for ‘Unified’, just about a couple of weeks ago. We still have a brand new release coming, but we’re working on so much music at the time. Maybe there’s an album coming, maybe not! We’re trying to understand what’s the next step and we’re still deciding if we’re going to do an album or EP or just release them as singles. It’s a process.

TBB: You should know that Indian fans absolutely adore your sound style! Have you ever heard of any Indian artists you’d like to collaborate with?

Super 8 & Tab: I remember the last time we were at Delhi and Progressive Brothers were warming up for us, and they played some really interesting music. We probably should collaborate with them! It would be amazing if you’ll can put us in touch with them!

TBB: Definitely! Thank you so much for your time and enjoy your performance here in India!

Special thanks to the Sunburn Team for putting together that fantastic set.
