“Possibly the youngest EDM producer in Aus” is 11 year old Black Summer, a boy whose fan following includes none other than Nina Las Vegas and Flume. Discovered by Triple J Unearthed, the prodigy has been long experimenting with music and claims he’s been making music for over 6 years already. While we spent our time climbing trees and playing hide and seek, this boy sat for hours at his computer dropping some sick beats and making some phenomenal music. He even piqued the curiosity of deadmau5 who tweeted, “WHEN I WAS 11… THEY DIDNT HAVE SOFTWARE AND PLUGINS… AND WE HAD TO… wait.. when i was 11 i was saving up for a bmx” and also said “kudos to him.” His dad traces this skill in music back in time to when he was little:
You’d hear Metallica blaring out of his room, then he’d be singing along to Pink Floyd, then he’s on the computer making electronic music. We don’t have a clue how to operate what he uses.
Looks like age is no barrier in the realm of electronic music!
