Dubai Is Taking On Ibiza and Las Vegas With Its Next Island Resort

If you have built something, Dubai already has a replica ready!

And this time its Ibiza & Las Vegas in the line of action.The United Arab Emirates has recently announced construction plans for another man-made island off the Arabian Gulf depict an expansive man-made island that construction officials claim will cater to 20,000 party peeps.

Speaking on the concept of this island marketing director George Saad had this to say:

We’re trying to make it the new Ibiza. A mini Ibiza dedicated solely to partying. People will be able to come here, stay in the hotel, party at clubs on the beach, anything in the world you can do. And we are trying to attract festivals to come here, like Burning Man.

Unlike in Dubai, where you need a license to drink alcohol, the “New Ibiza” will have no such restrictions. Finished in 2013 with 4 million square feet of usable land, the island maintains no residential zoning and will only be open to visitors or residents of the neighboring islands. Dubai’s Ibiza-killing paradise has plans to be finished in 2018.
