mark knight ep

Toolroom label boss Mark Knight delivers his first EP of 2015 on his flagship imprint and in doing so, states his musical intent for the impending year. Fresh from the recent #RESET campaign, Mark puts the new ethos and musical direction of the label into asolid 2 tracker that ticks the boxes of upfront, accessible and quality house music. With 2015 looking to be the return of the resurgent Tech-house flavor, Knight leads from the front on his alluring Toolroom label. The two track EP is now available for purchase as well.

Ironing Man’ is a groove driven peak-time track with big builds and trademark Knight production, that grows from strength to strength around every curve. The groovy chords mashed up with the perky vocal effects create a simple 4×4 drumline, but with the right FX adequately scattered all over the track, the tune stays as unpredictable and familiar as Mark Knight has made Tech house. The B-side ‘Feel Good Now’ turns down a heavy bass and synth driven techno route and is catered for the more underground floors, with a bouncy groove and drumline, the insistent vocal hook drives much of the track form the break all the way till its crescendo and back.
