8th November, 2014 was a milestone for deep house in India. Regenerate did something that no one had ever done before. Hosting By The Pier, India’s first ever Deep House open air event in Mumbai. With over 700+ people at one of Mumbai’s most picturesque locations, Radio Club Pier, the event was a runaway success.
And now Regenerate are back with its second edition, By The Pier 2.0, and this time it’s going to be better and bigger. With some of the best Indian acts on board, such as Blurry Slur (Qwiver’s deep house moniker), Chhab, Cyrus, Kaleekarma and Orbs & Zen, who will be showcasing their talents on the console, while acts like Troja and Audioglitch will be taking over the baton at the after party. Headlining the event is A Guy Called Gerald, an iconic name in the dance music scene today. Responsible for kickstarting the acid house craze in Europe with his classics ‘Voodoo Ray’ and ‘Pacific State‘, he has time and again continued to push the boundaries of dance music, touring worldwide and bringing his own brand of music to fans everywhere.
Supporting A Guy Called Gerald are Whyt Noyz, consisting of David Sidley and Duncan Murray. The duo’s innovative sound features techno, live drums and vocal samples that has caught the attention of the likes of legends like Richie Hawtin and Dubfire. Whyt Noyz will be headlining the after party at Tijuana Iguana, Fort, which was also the venue for By The Pier‘s first after party.
Other than music, the event will also see a flea market, a food market and art installations at the venue. With such a fantastic lineup and attractions at offer, this gig is one you shouldn’t be missing out on.
