ISIS Sentences Musicians to Beating for Playing Electronic Keyboards

We know about the trouble that began in 2011 in Syria has taken multiple folds by now. Resulting a series of attacks that are alleged to have taken place in Al-Buraq, Syria, ISIS police officers recently detained certain musicians and destroyed what they dogged to be “un-Islamic” keyboards. Beaten to 90 lashes with a wooden stick, the musicians were treated so, as they were using electronic keyboards. Also included in the offense was a musician who appeared to have played a wooden lute.

After the men were beaten, their instruments were destroyed by officials.

The musicians in question were only a few of the citizens punished in the past couple of days for seemingly harmless activities. Apart from this around 15 pigeon breeders were also reprimanded after it was determined that the act “distracted them from praising Allah,” and 13 children were slayed by firing crew for watching an Asian Cup soccer match after their offenses were read over a loudspeaker.
