Prok & Fitch are constantly setting fire to radio airwaves worldwide, with a recent feature on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1 and guest spots on Roger Sanchez’s radio show. Their own Floorplay podcast attracts tens of thousands of listeners a month, proving their magnetism is difficult to ignore. The magical duo kick off this year with an exciting new EP Release on the mighty Toolroom Records and its a smashing new double delight indeed! Here’s what the duo had to say about the EP.
For us House Music is all about the groove, it always has been & always will be, regardless of changes in music trends. We spend a lot of time keeping our drums sounding fresh, we believe this gives our music part of its true identity. Our musical roots stem from 90s house, for us that’s when it all began, we believe that hints of this will always appear in our music. This Raw Cuts EP is all about the music we love, it comes from the heart, simply us sitting in our studio making the music we want to play. They both create huge memorable moments in our DJ sets, moments that remind us why we love house music.
The A-side features the titular ‘Raw cut’ that brings in an alluring bassline fused with poignant vocals echoing in the background. Delivering on their promise of groovy house music, the track tends anywhere between House, Tech and Techno making it a Dancefloor monster on any night. Designed on peak time builds, each element reverberates an energetic signature that coalesce to bring an explosive drop of beats and bliss. The B-side features the far less mellower ‘A Little Dance‘, that brings on some classic Techno vibes with a sacrosanct bassline and a playful vocal hook merged with a percussion loop. A fantastic way to start their year undoubtedly, Prok & Fitch can only build on the fine form they are in!
