Well, we didn’t foresee this coming, that’s for certain! Deep house has always been known to burst through to the mainstream with extreme levels of popularity. That’s exactly what’s happened with Maya Jane Coles’ delectable tune ‘What They Say‘. Ace artist Nicki Minaj has used a slowed down sample of Maya’s tune, and brought in rap Gods like Drake and Lil’ Wayne to feature on the record titled ‘Truffle Butter‘.
‘Truffle Butter‘ uses Maya’s melodies to a large extent, however we’ve gotta admit, Drake’s vocals over Maya’s beatwork make for quite the perfect rhythm. The YMCMB member breaks down their upper class lifestyle and luxurious living in this tune. ‘Truffle Butter‘ shall be featured on Nicki’s third album The Pinkprint, which is slated for a December 15th release.
