Richie Hawtin really doesn’t seem particularly friendly during his performances. On Saturday’s Time Warp in New York, Richie let his frustrations fly when intentionally or unintentionally knocked over one of his stage monitors at a girl filming the show on her iPhone. Thankfully however, neither she nor her phone were injured or damaged in the process. It does seem to be a rather aggressive approach on Richie’s part of dealing with inconveniences like these; however he did take to Facebook to clear the air and was deeply apologetic for his actions.
It’s safe to assume however that Richie probably felt the girl had filmed enough. Richie may have overreacted of course, but seriously folks, who goes to these events to practice amateur videography? Soak in the music and have a good time- wasn’t that always the point?
