When dance music pioneer and globally acclaimed DJ/ producer Steve Angello unveiled the first official single from his forthcoming new album, fevered reactions to the track surpassed all expectations. ‘Wasted Love’ featuring vocals from Dougy Mandagi from The Temper Trap was originally debuted at UK festival T in the Park over the summer and received critical acclaim from both his peers and worldwide press alike. MTV praised the track for “mixing Angello’s signature EDM with Dougy’s hypnotic vocals,” while BBC Newsbeat commended its “melodic, instrumental dance music sound.” Moving away from the summer festival season, Angello has since scored a selection of eclectic remixes of ‘Wasted Love‘ from some of the worlds biggest dance music artists. Now released through his own Size Records imprint, the mammoth, eight-track remix package not only casts the spotlight onto a number of future stars, but also grants Angello’s original mix a number of welcome new musical dimensions.
With bold, anthemic reworks from AN21 & Sebjak and Rivaz, as well as a stunning ethereal version from UK producer Grum, the track also receives two further dark, bass-heavy reworks from US trio iSHi and UK up-and-comers I See Monstas. Additional remixes from Dirty Vegas, Swedish newcomers Pang! and legendary house duo The Cube Guys round-off a carefully curated, intelligently executed remix package with aplomb.
