Armin Van Buuren Reinvents Live Music With Muscle-Controlled Technology

In the wide space of technology and music there are certainly ample amount of chances that the two deep fields intersect with each other. In a recent experiment which possibly as we believe will reach mainstream heights, trance maestro Armin van Buuren spearheaded and took a level up the live music experience. He is seen using a new Myo armband technology by Thalmic Labs that allows the wearer to turn the music down by making a fist or control stage lighting with a wave of their arms.

I always love to involve new ideas into my show. Crowd interaction is absolutely key to me and the Myo helps me with this. It can create a unique experience for the clubber and it feels like I’m even closer to them. – Armin Van Buuren

The device is well-matched with all of the favorite DJ tools like Ableton, Serato, Traktor, Logic Pro, and Garage Band; whereas the armband allows one to influence songs by acting as a MIDI controller. By performing the twist, turn, grab and squeeze gestures it allows one to control tone, tempo, pitch and volume. With the help of this muscle-controlled technology, DJs can now stay hands-free and add a lot of spice to their live performances. Watch the video below:
