In our recent post about the leaked results of the DJ Mag Top 100 polls, the results turned out to be pretty accurate, as Hardwell retained his position as the number 1 DJ in the world in the coveted DJ Mag Poll. The results, which were declared yesterday, had already been leaked out a couple of days before the actual results, and they correctly displayed the rankings of DJ’s upto the number 70.

Hardwell retaining his position at the top also meant that Laidback Luke’s theory of Martin Garrix winning the title was proven false. While Garrix finished 4th, he still has time to make it to number one in the ranking polls. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike finished 2nd, while Armin van Buuren came in at third, slipping down from 2nd from last year. Martin Garrix jumped up 36 places to cement his spot at 4, while Tiesto, Avicii, David Guetta, Nicky Romero,Skrillex and Steve Aoki rounding off the top 10.While the rankings saw a number of new entrants into the list, a number of seasoned artists like Richie Hawtin, Ferry Corsten, John O’Callaghan, Eric Prydz and Arty had to settle for places quite lower than they had established earlier.

Talking about his crowning as the World’s No.1 DJ for the second time in a row, here’s what the Dutch Superstar Hardwell had to say.

Wow – this is a dream that just keeps going! I’m extremely proud to find myself holding on to the title of #1 DJ in the world for another year. Last year was a moment in my career I had spent 10 years dreaming of but to be back on stage again, picking up the award for a second time in a row, is beyond my wildest dreams. To my fans, the music lovers and everyone else along the way during this roller coaster 12 month period, I just want to thank each and every one of you! Your support for my music and love for this scene is truly inspirational. I’m really looking forward to what 2015 will bring, with the arrival of my first full artist album, a new world tour and a bunch of other exciting projects, I know this new chapter in the journey is going to be the best part yet!
