Ultra Japan becomes the largest electronic music event in the country's history

Following the unbelievable success of yearly editions of ‘Ultra Korea’ as well as the very first ‘Road To Ultra Thailand’ event for the official Ultra Japan warm-up party, Japan has now become the fourth Asian country to be filled with the spirit of Ultra Music Festival in 2014. The introductory edition of Ultra Japan, which recently took place on September 28th and September 29th has officially been proclaimed as the largest electronic music event ever to take place on Japanese soil.

The much anticipated edition that witnessed the sold-out mark over eight weeks in advance and described by headliners Axwell / Ingrosso as “one of the best gigs of [their] lives,” is a clear evidence of the remarkable achievement. With more than 42,000 ‘Ultranauts’ run down on the gigantic Tokyo Odaiba Ultra Park in Japan’s capital city for two consecutive days of the finest electronic music, complemented by the most technological and radical stage designs, it turned out to be the best event to happen in the nation. Legends Axwell / Ingrosso remarked,

It’s an honor to have been invited to headline the first ever Ultra Music festival in Japan! The reception from everyone has been fantastic and we loved every minute of playing our new music to the fans! So much energy in the crowd. We can’t wait to return and tour the new album next year!

The big event was watched by over one million live on Ultra’s official YouTube channel UMF TV, as the Land of the Rising Sun welcomed an eye-watering selection of the world’s best DJs, including the likes of Hardwell, Kaskade, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Alesso, Axwell / Ingrosso, Fedde Le Grand, Steve Angello and W&W. While some highlights were also shown on the Japanese national television station, FUJI TV. Relive moments from the prestigious event by watching highlights of Axwell / Ingrosso’s set here.
