What do David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Hardwell have in common? The three of them were voted the “No. 1 DJ in the World” in the DJ Mag Top 100 Polls in 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively. And if Laidback Luke‘s to be believed, Martin Garrix might be joining the distinguished list this year.
In an interview with inthemix.com, Laidback Luke said he’s pretty certain it’s Garrix’s spot to take this year.
“Everybody has been whispering that it’s going to be Martin Garrix this year. And you know what, I really like Martin, he’s a very down-to-earth guy that’s just into it to make music and travel the world. He’s had this insane year and he’s still keeping up. I know that it’s tough going from a couple of local shows to the whole world circuit. Props to him and I hope he makes it.” said Luke
If Laidback Luke is indeed right, a No. 1 spot o the DJ Mag Top 100 poll would indeed be a remarkable achievement for the just 18 year old DJ and producer, who still has better days ahead of him.
But until then, all we can do is wait for 18th of October, when the results of the poll are declared.
