1. INTERSTELLA 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (2003)

An “animated house musical” based on Daft Punk’s album Discovery. It is the Grammy award winners’ second studio album and features some of their hits such as “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”. The film rotates around the seizure, exploration, and liberation of an interstellar pop band from the future. The more interesting part about the movie is that there are no dialogues and only minimal sound effects are used to direct more focus on the music. The 65 minute movie was produced by Daft Punk themselves with the help of Toei Animation, and it’s a must watch for any Daft Punk fan.

2. It’s All Gone Pete Tong (2004)

This movie is quite rare in its own way due to its dramatic comedy. It follows the life of DJ Frankie Wilde, who is portrayed as an up-and-coming producer/dj who begins abusing drugs and partying nonstop. Later he is found to lose all of his hearing in one ear and 80% in other. He then struggles between gaining his hearing over his career as a DJ as he starts to fall off and lose his hearing and skills entirely. But Frankie surpasses his deafness and eventually trains himself for the same to become one of the biggest DJ’s in Ibiza. Renowned club djs such as Tiesto, Pete Tong, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox to name a few, have appearances in the movie.

3. Take One (2010):

We all know about the fabulous lives of Swedish superstars Swedish House Mafia comprising of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. As one would probably expect from a raw documentary on the trio, it doesn’t exactly show them in the cheerful light.  Instead ‘Take One’ depicts the hectic touring life of the members. The group’s problems might be extremely intense, but they certainly live up to their party-filled lifestyle flaking some light on other burdens of touring. The soundtrack is killer and it’s a must watch for any SHM fan as it provides an eye-opening view into the life of one of EDM’s biggest groups ever formed.
