Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the Global Citizen Festival, during his New York visitation. He will be one of many world leaders, attending this Global Festival at Central Park. Along with Mr. Modi, leaders such as UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the President of World Bank Jim Yong Kim, and the Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg are a few names from a wide list of International leaders who are excited to be part of an altruistic festival. The headlining acts include heavyweights like Jay – Z and Tiesto. It will be a legendary sight to have world leaders grove to the tunes of electronic dance music and more.
CEO of the Global Poverty Project Hugh Evans had the warmest of regards for Mr. Modi’s efforts, and had this to say about it:
“It is a monumental acknowledgement of the actions taken by Global Citizens that Prime Ministers Modi and Hasina, together with dozens of other world leaders will take the stage at the Global Citizen Festival to announce extraordinary commitments on behalf of the world’s poor.”
The Festival has lined up an array of interesting artists and stars, including Fun, Carrie Underwood, The Roots, and No Doubt. It will be hosted by Hollywood stars, Hugh Jackman, Jessica Alba and Katie Holmes. It is free – ticketed and hopes to add more and more support to the Global Citizen Movement.
