Border Movement Louge at Hauz Khas SocialThe cultural catalysts Border Movement, in affiliation with the Goethe Institut, are bringing The Lounge to India. The India edition is being organized along with regional partners Wild City and local partners Smoke Inc. and Littlei. The Border Movement Lounge is all set to take Delhi and Kolkata, by storm, respectively, on September 17th and 20th . They hope to create a fresh current in cross – cultural collaborations between artists from South Asia. The event focuses on different regions of the subcontinent, this time their focus is on Sri Lanka and Colombo based artist and alternative electronic colossus Sunara, will be joining us at both the cities.

The Delhi chapter, of the Border Movement Lounge will have Delhi based artist Moniker and Colombo’s Colossus Sunara play side by side at Delhi’s very own cultural hub, Social Offline, at Hauz Khas Village. Sunara will also be playing at the Border Movement Lounge in Kolkata, at Burdwan Palace, with ambient and chill out producer Yidam, and Soumajit Ghosh & Aneesh Basu a.k.a Hybrid Protocol.

Sunara is super excited to bring some funk, glitch hop, nu jazz to the table and had this to say about The Border Movement Lounge:

“I’m truly honoured to be a part of the first Border Movement Lounge in Delhi and so excited to be playing there for the first time. Waiting eagerly to spin some tunes, groove to the music and to feel the magic of beautiful India.”

DJ Moniker, in his own words sums up the ideology of the event:

“Border Movement Lounge is a platform that proudly showcases established, upcoming artists and producers from across South Asia. With the hope of fostering a more open and interactive culture of electronic music in the region it takes pride in the artists that it tightly curates. We’re therefore more than excited to open up proceedings in India with the extremely talented Sunara from Colombo. We may even have a few tricks up our sleeve for the rest of the event.”
Catch Moniker and Sunara at Hauz Khas Social, on 17th September, 9 p.m. onward.
