Have you ever dreamt of owning your own Daft Punk helmet, complete with LED lights? There’s good news for you after all. A man named Charles Bergeron has designed a homemade version of the helmet, complete with LED lights, giving it the complete authentic feel. Using BeagleBone Black, an open-source hardware single board computer, LED lights and gold, chrome and plastic, Bergeron came up with a pretty impressive, working replica of the helmet. Though to programme the lights, you’ll still have to connect the helmet to a computer, Bergeron is working on an app that wouldn’t require the helmet to be connected to programme the lights.
Based on the video he’s released, it looks pretty sick! If you want to make one for yourself, you can refer to the guide and help yourself (spoiler alert: Looks pretty tough) or you could wait for it to go on sale in September, but that will set you back by a cool $2300.
But you have to have to check out this video and see for yourself how badass the helmet looks.
