Basement Jaxx- Never Say Never (Tiësto & MOTi Remix)

Honestly, I’m not sure what it is about this remix that’s driving people crazy. I listened to it once, I listened to it twice, I listened to it several times in vain search for that ‘Oomph‘ factor and somehow only ETML‘s hypnotic vocals impressed me. I’m not saying the track is bad, but it sounds so familiar and like almost every cliche EDM track  that it doesn’t excite me. What I do appreciate about this track is the build that manages to get the adrenaline pumping. It’s alright to have this track as part of your playlist that serves as background music as you get things done but it doesn’t compel me to hit repeat like a maniac which a lot of other Tiesto and Moti remixes have in the past.

The attempt to add a club like tinge to the otherwise chill track has me confused whether I’m supposed to dance or just wedge myself deeper into my bean-bag with my eyes closed. I’d pick the melodic original any day, brownie points for the twerking robot video which strange as it is, held my attention.
