Over the past few seasons, Sunburn have anchored the Dance Music spectrum across the hinges of the nation, to bring supremely gifted talents onto our shores and into our realms. Besides hosting world heavyweights and champions of the genre, they have also nurtured and discovered talent that has till now only catered to the recesses of Dance music aficionados. One such success story is undoubtedly Sunburn Resident DJ (S)HAAN. The young Indian DJ/Producer will have the distinct honor and privilege to become the first Indian to perform at the prestigious Tomorrowland Festival! Slated for a July 25th premiere at 7 pm Boom time, (S)HAAN will be performing at the Lotto Dream Island Stage, featuring other prime artists such as Bassjackers, Albin Myers & Michael Woods.
Ever since the announcement made airwaves over social media, as news of India being represented at the glorious festival was announced, fans shared their excitement and sense of pride to see a familiar face as part of the iconic lineup of Tomorrowland. What’s more impressive is the timing of the Indian making his debut, as the festival enters for the first time in its history, its second weekend! It’s taken 10 years for an Indian to reach the summit and touch the pinnacle, and it all starts this Friday with (S)HAAN!
Karan Singh, CEO of Sunburn, was all praise for the young DJ. Looking back at his debut at Sunburn Goa in 2010, Singh expects (S)HAAN to return with vigor and the bearing additional zeal that will make him a seasoned performer.
We at Sunburn feel immensely proud that our own resident DJ is the FIRST Indian to represent the country at Tomorrowland. In such a short time, Shaan has made amazing strides as an artist, both in a professional & personal sense. This is set to be a game-changing moment not just for SHAAN but also for all aspiring Indian artists. Tomorrowland 2014 is even more epic this year, as they celebrate their 10 year anniversary. I’m preparing a special set, in honor of the festival, and the impact it has had on entire EDM industry. It’s going to be so kick-ass. It’s a complete honor to represent India at Tomorrowland this year. Tomorrowland is the epitome of EDM music festivals. It’s the dream. I’m excited to be there with so many other exceptional DJ’s, but even more than that, I have been overwhelmed by the support of the fans here in India. The love and support and well wishes are simply incredible. I am proud to be Indian. And this one is for you, India!
