C5aylIQFnWMPost the breakup of Swedish House Mafia in 2013, Steve Angello has taken all the right steps so far. He’s given his record label, SIZE Records, an all new direction, started work on his new studio album, Wild Youth, and played at some of the biggest festivals around the world.

And now he has premiered his new single, Wasted Love, from his upcoming album through Rolling Stone. Featuring vocalist Dougy Mandagi of The Temper Trap, the track successfully infuses both indie and electronica elements into a wonderful, melodic sound. The track kicks off with some beautifully subtle guitar strings, with Dougy’s vocals sitting perfectly with the whole arrangement. The chorus has a very “feel good” vibe to it with its infectious, positive energy.

Talking to Rolling Stone, he says, “I wanted to find a great balance between dance and indie, and I kind of held back a lot just to create that moment where it’s about the melodies and the songs.”

With his album being one of the most anticipated albums in dance music in recent times, one can only hope that the rest of the material on the album is as good or even better than Wasted Love. Stream the track on Soundcloud and buy it on iTunes.
