June 8th holds an exceedingly special place in the hearts of the Krewella trio. For the uninitiated, the day before yesterday (6-8-10) marked the 4th anniversary of the day when Yasmine, Jahan, and Rain Man together decided to drop out of school, quit their jobs and entirely dedicate their lives to Krewella.
It’s evident though that now that they’re international superstars, dropping out effectively seems like no brainer; but be rest assured at the time of making their choice, it was probably the most difficult decision they’d have ever faced. It goes without saying that it might not have been too easy to convince their families or even themselves of the route they chose even though, they had been making music together since 2006 but we guess it’s true that when you truly believe in something with all your heart, you’ll do whatever’s necessary to make it fruitful and that’s exactly what the Krew did.
Come to think about it, one of the main things Krewella has always stood for is being comfortable with who you are and doing what you like most regardless of what other people may think or feel about it. Regarded as some of the most “real” and down-to-earth people you will ever meet, Jahan, Yasmine and Rain Man are known throughout the industry to be people who are perfect examples of – ‘what you see is what you get’. Even though they might be popular across the world for different reasons however, it is this quality which makes them truly unique and allows their fans to connect with them on such a deep level.
Last year, they had held a special live stream for The Krew which proved quite an exciting affair for many and since then they’ve put out their debut album and have been touring all over the world, truly realizing their dreams in the process. Much to our delight, to celebrate their 4th anniversary the trio decided to make it special and have dropped a quick documentary on the meaning behind their decision and a look at where they’ve gone since then.
