LA based prolific Dance Music producer Damian Lazarus has revealed his plans for his brand new collaborative artist project The Ancient Moons, as he reveals the first release under the visionary venture through the euphoric and alluring single ‘Lovers’ Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)‘. The single emphasizes a closer-to-home feel given the fact that it features the serene vocals of Qawwali singers fused with a tech-infused musical arrangement – a fusion so unique and yet a unison waiting to happen for centuries! Lazarus is joined at production control with James Ford for this track and future releases that Lazarus will reveal through an album release later in the year. The vision for Ancient Moons is that, it will brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players, from around the world, allowing a synergy of various musical styles that break away from the norm and allow for musical creativity. In the words of Lazarus himself :

There is nothing that compares to DJing under the stars in the night air or being responsible for soundtracking the rising of the sun in the morning and I wanted to create an album that reflects these beautiful moments.

Lovers’ Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)‘ happens to be the first chapter in this exciting new adventure, as vocalists Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad and Hamza Akram, who are Pakistan´s leading Qawwali singers combine with Lazarus‘s techy environment to give the season’s most unique brand of Tech House anthems you will hear! After meeting Fareed Ayaz and co. performing in the film ‘Reluctant Fundamentalist‘, Lazarus ensured that the unique collaboration would be born. The track speaks about love and how four eyes between the lovers become one. Set to Lazarus and Ford´s incendiary techno production, the result has been causing chaos on the dancefloor. Early tastemaker reactions has seen everyone from Skrillex to the BBC Asian Network, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs to Carl Craig giving their approval, and with Pete Tong awarding ‘Lovers’ Eyes’ Essential New Tune on Radio 1, this has all the hallmarks of being one of those wonderful electronic music curveballs that confuses and delights in equal measure!

Check out the preview below and mark your calendars for 30th June for the release date.
