If you feel inadequate about yourself after hearing of 20-year old house music prodigy Joey Dale, the fact that he’s Dutch and therefore genetically engineered to be incredible at the console, should console you. If that doesn’t give you closure, I wouldn’t suggest that you listen to his music because his sound is experienced beyond his years. Not only trying his hand at production but also having released his first track while he was still in high school, Dale graduated in 2011 with a diploma in MAD SKILLS. However, unlike Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus his attention-hungry contemporaries in the music business, Hardwell’s newest protégé is all about grit and passion for his craft, making him too talented to ignore.

When the #1 DJ in the world takes you under his wing, you’re probably doing something right. Dale signed to Revealed Recordings last November, joining the ranks of Professor Hardwell’s understudies, which have included Dyro and Dannic. Since then, there’s been no stopping the Joey train – he’s been crowned one of the top 10 DJs under 20, slayed stages with Alvaro, released a track with the mentor himself, and had a caveman/selfie moment when he ‘made fire’ in the studio with none other than our Artist of the Month, Quintino.

It would be an understatement to say that he’s been sending shockwaves through the industry, the biggest of which is ironically enough titled, Shockwave. His tracks have made to the mega-stages of Ultra Miami, and after hearing his banger Watcha Call Me, I doubt you’ll forget his name, let alone what to call him.

Now is the time to catch Joey Dale’s music and energy live, while he’s on his ascent to superstardom, but still humble enough to give you his autograph. As he takes the stage at one of Delhi’s freshest venues, the oasis of strobelights and waterfalls that is I-Kandy, only few would be as perfect a fit to master the soundtrack for a sundowner pool party. Don’t miss him (alongwith the IPL final) this Sunday, ripping the stage apart from 5:30pm. He’s living proof that if you reach for the stars, you’ll soon enough become one.
