Remember how we told you that Steve Aoki intends to release his new album ‘Neon Future’ in two parts? Well, we’ve got more juicer details on that front, as a string of announcements have been made by the Dim Mak boss in the buildup to the release of his highly-anticipated album! For starters, the International DJ and Superstar producer will release ‘Neon Future I‘ this August via Dim Mak/Ultra Music while ‘Neon Future II’ is slated for an early release in 2015. Given his penchant for fusing his cutting edge music with forward-thinking technology, one can expect some massive audio pyrotechnics through his new album works!
The Grammy nominated and highly esteemed musician, Steve Aoki, will look to leave no stone unturned, whilst delivering a phantasmic new collection of futuristic music as he collaborates with artists such as Fall Out Boy, Empire of the Sun, will.i.am, Flux Pavilion, Bonnie McKee and Machine Gun Kelly. The album’s very first single ‘Rage the night‘ featuring Waka Flocka Fame has already created incredible hype over social media with Aoki’s legions of fans swearing that it may just be one his finest! Intending to find a mergence between technology and innovative music, Steve intends to aurally represent his vision for a Utopian future through his lush digital landscape. When I think of the dance world, I think of how it’s a colorful world. That, along with my fascination with futurism defined the concept of my new album, Neon Future. I see the future in a more of a Utopian sense, built through technology, music and color. These concepts became the driving force for the creation of my first double album.
To celebrate the release of Neon Future Part 1, Aoki will be pulling all the stops as he prepares to headline at the world renowned Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 16. After playing nearly 300 live shows to one million fans last year, he will do a repeat with a very select run of major appearances in the U.S. leading up to the release of the album including main stage sets at Mysteryland in upstate New York over Memorial Day Weekend and Spring Awakening in Chicago in June, as well as residency dates at Hakkasan in Las Vegas. However, MSG will be the shining crescendo of his shows with top-notch productions, a multitude of special guests and the guaranteed inclusion of rafts and plenty of cake!
