Futuristic Electronic Dance Music talent Madhav Shorey aka Kohra has a penchant for molding minimal progressions into larger-than-life sonic landscapes! His productions emit powerful and intelligent elements, that make it invariably unpredictable and a true testament to the modern music pioneer’s seemingly infinite skills. Having found much success over the years through well respected international record labels including Sounds Of Earth, Trident Music, Wide Angle Recordings and Echoes Records to name a few, besides his own quality imprint of Qilla Records, Kohra releases a brand new EP titled ‘Serpent‘ on Portuguese based label Sui Generiz.
Aptly titled ‘Serpent‘ features a slithering melody that quivers and climbs the back of the trembling bassline besides some eerie atmospherics and lush wavepads. Built as a gritty dancefloor number, the aggressive bass grooves compliment the ethereal effects added by Kohra around the quarter marks. The B-side features ‘Mirror Maze‘, which gives an underlying bass groove merged with some light percussion work. Climbing synths supported by some heavily-edited vocal work emphasize the cutting-edge material coming out of this Indian producer’s studio, as he climbs the success ladder with much fervor and determination.
