After the coffee run video of Deadmau5 feat. our very own Daler Mehndi went viral last month, Joel is back with another coffee hunt chronicle with none other than Vanilla Ice in Miami (and this time, he did manage to get his coffee!). For those of you less acquainted with the 90s hip-hop artists, Vanilla Ice was the mastermind behind the then hot track ‘Ice Ice Baby’. From there, he experimented with his music through the years and ventured into the field of acting as well.
The coffee run involved the two artists bonding as they both tried to figure out what trap music is about (being equally clueless), taking digs at commercial EDM, making ‘pulling off a Bieber’ a legit thing to say, a brief lesson on history of Miami given by Vanilla Ice and of course, some serious ‘Ninja Turtles’ resurrection talk.
During the ride, Deadmau5 also had various revelations such as getting to know that V.Ice was actually present at his spectacular ‘This is Lumia’- Secret London gig in 2012 and the fact that he was not the only one driving around exclusive Ferraris in Miami. This is one coffee run you’d actually want to sit through!
