The whole country has been in a rodent fueled frenzy with the recent deadmau5 tour. Now, as we’re reeling in from the aftermath, the Mau5 has something special for us. What stemmed from an interview, into a social media frenzy, finally culminated in an unforgettable live, unrehearsed collaboration with Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5, and Punjabi Folk Superstar Daler Mehndi. To take things forward, the mau5 even decided to do a coffee lassi run with the Punjabi personality.

So, this edition of the coffee run, was minus the Ferarri, minus the coffee, but it was more than made up for in Lamborginhi Murcielago LP670 SV, around the Buddh International F1 Circuit. In the beginning you can here Joel’s team warn him about driving slow, to which he reassures them by saying that he would drive real slow, just so they can talk. Clearly, that’s not something that anyone would do with that much horsepower under the hood, waiting to be unleashed on a track built for speeding. And Joel, as we could all expect, was really no different.

The moment he pulls out of the pitstop, he mentions that he promised he wouldn’t go over a hundred, with an evil sarcastic smirk on his face. They begin by exchanging pleasantries, and both personalities describe what a pleasure it was for them to be in each other’s company.  They continue to (humorously) discuss the various kinds of Bollywood music (Good Bollywood and Bad Bollywood), possibly a stab at Yo Yo Honey Singh , and the inspiration behind Joel’s favourite Daler track, Tunak Tunak Tun.

It’s quite paradoxical as Daler explains the deeper meaning behind Tunak Tunak Tun against the background of a roaring Lamborginhi pushed to it’s full capacity (They hit 200 mph). At some points you could even see Daler’s nervous expression at the incredible speed they hit.

This coffee run is rife with certain uneasy moments, a ton of awkward silences, and a very uneasy Daler Mehndi. But hey, that’s what makes this (lack of) coffee run so much fun to watch!
