Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautiful (Cedric Gervais Remix)

The epic track Young & Beautiful produced for the movie ‘The Great Gatsby’ has catapulted Lana Del Rey into a different league altogether. The soothing deep voice of Lana is to die for. There is something familiar, something inimitable about Lana which makes all her songs a must have on your ipod.

It is absolutely fascinating and tough to mix Lana’s tracks. Young & Beautiful remix by Cedric Gervais is surely a commendable one. The original in itself is a soulful rendition of emotions, to add a highlight of beats and synths is indeed great. Cedric has kept  the beginning but given it a beautiful clap melody. The track progresses to include some groovy drops and then it builds up again to match the vocals. What we love about the track is that Cedric has worked extremely well and retained the melody of the original just like he did with Summertime Sadness.

Here is what Cedric had to say in an interview with Rolling Stones -

“I’m a huge fan of Lana Del Rey’s music and having already remixed ‘Summertime Sadness,’ I was excited to work with her again on ‘Young and Beautiful.’ Her voice is amazing and I built an entirely new instrumental around the vocal. It’s killer for the dance floor but also something that sounds great in the car.”
