Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren has been called the flag bearer of the trance movement, it is undoubtedly why he has been voted as the #1 DJ in the world for 5 years. In 2010, he received the Gouden Harp, the highest distinction a Dutch artist can ever get. Armin was named Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau by Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands on Queensday 2011 for his contribution as a Dutchman to the music industry.

However his greatest achievement is not that he is the world’s #1 DJ or the awards he has received but his radio show A State of Trance which is coming to Mumbai to celebrate its 600th episode. The show has won the International Dance Music Award for ‘Best Mix Radio Show’ for 3 years in a row.

Music surrounded him since his early days and dance music became his biggest passion after his mother won a computer when he was 11, making mix tapes and experimenting with different sounds and sequences. His music transcends through the years and his perseverance to take trance to new heights is evident.

“I see it as my responsibility to promote trance as a genre and I want to support it in every way I can. Music should connect us. As long as the music keeps evolving like it is, I will continue and I don’t see any reason to slow it down.” He has stayed true to his words.

Aly & Fila

Aly and Fila are the trance DJ duo from Eygpt who have been friends since their childhood. The two took over Eygpt by storm with their tracks burning hot like sun in the countries deserts. Their Future Sound of Eygpt radio show is also the name of their imprint, a sublabel of Armin’s Armada Music.

They established themselves in Eygpt and started off internationally in 2002 when they signed with the eminent German record label, Euphonic records. Their first release “Eye of Horus” received great support from Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and other DJs.

They’ve played at some of the biggest EDM festivals – EDC – Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Global Gathering, Dance Valley, Stereosonic, WMC and Full On Ferry. This is their 7th year playing for ASOT, apart from Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz no other artists have had such a good run. 2013 also is a special year for Future Sound of Eygpt as well with their 300th episode release this year, FSOE300 will expand into a multi-date, multi-country world tour experience like ASOT.

Shogun

Andrew Chen a.k.a Shogun is an American born Taiwanese DJ and producer and the first Asian to be signed to S107/Armada. Shogun has played besides and been supported by some of the biggest names in the industry.

He began his career as a resident DJ at the Ministry of Sound and his mixes can he heard on many radio stations including Digitally Imported (di.fm), Globalbeats.fm, Sense.FM and Discover Trance Radio. His tracks have also been featured on the world’s leading radio shows such as Vonyc Sessions, Trance Around The World, Corsten’s Countdown, Global DJ Broadcast, and A State of Trance Radio Show.

Arnej

Bosnian born Canadian trance DJ Arnej was named “Producer of the year” by Armin van Buuren in 2008. Arnej started off his career not as a DJ but as someone who visualises sounds for video games, creating the sounds for Heroes of Newerth and other video games. With no music degree or no descendent of a musical genius, he has carved a name for himself and his talent is incontestable.
