Opiuo’s set is a precise concoction of soul slap funkship , irresistible grooves, chunky beats, luscious brooding soundscapes, morphing brakes & bass and scrumptious glitch that directly hit in the center of the bulls-eye of your inner raver’s third eye. He’s ready to unleash his next installment of filth dedicated to all the Mumbaikers at MTV Bloc Party Mumbai , happening on the 18th and 19th of January, 2013.

Opiuo (A.k.a Oscar) was born on an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean New Zealand, but has lived down under (Australia) for the past 6-7 years and now resides in Melbourne.

Did you know, he made music in breaks and electro before he turned to bass. Prior to his success, he was not a Dubstep fan, and had never heard of Flux Pavillion. He quotes in a recent interview that :

“I don’t listen to a lot of bass music.If I was listening too much to what I do, I wouldn’t be doing what I do.”

He grew up around a lot of Music, such as gigs, parties, live bands.

But did you know, whether it be Bass, or breaks, he had music flowing in him ever since he began to make sense of this world.

I had access to drum-kits when I was only 2 years old, and was always so amused by it.

He has performed alongside the likes of MC Hammer and Bassnectar, reached #1 chart positions on Beatport, Addictech, and iTunes. Opiuo will play at the MTV Bloc Party on January 19 (Saturday), at the Juhu Hotel, Mumbai. Set Timing : 7pm to 8 pm, right before Alesso’s performance.
